Pasternak Boris
candle burned
WINTER NIGHT
Blizzard, snowstorm in all the land
On everywhere.
A candle burned on the table,
A candle burned.
As summer midges
Towards a flame,
Flakes flew out of the yard
To the window frame.
Blizzard painted on glass
Circles and arrows.
A candle burned on the table,
A candle burned.
On the illuminated ceiling
Shadow were cast
Crossed arms and legs,
Destinies crossed.
And fell two shoe
With a thud on the floor.
The wax tears with nightlight
The dress was dripping.
And lost in the snowy darkness
Gray and white.
A candle burned on the table,
A candle burned.
Candle on the muzzle of the corner
And the heat temptation
Heaving like an angel, two wings
Crosswise.
